Welcome to the

Life of Significant Soil!

In his journal from July 1836, Ralph Waldo Emerson challenged:

“Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that in your reading have been like the blast of triumph out of Shakespeare, Seneca, Moses, John and Paul.”

This I have done and so Life of Significant Soil was born. If you enjoy the site, please “like” Significant Soil on Facebook.

          To Life!

“O God, by whose laws the poles revolve, the stars follow their courses, the sun rules the day and the moon presides over the night; and all the world maintains, as far as this world of sense allows, the wondrous stability of things by means of the orders and recurrences of seasons: through the days by the changing of light and darkness, through the months by the moon's progressions and declines, through the years by the successions of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter, through the cycles by the completion of the sun's course, through the great eras of time by the return of the stars to their starting points.”  ~ St. Augustine

Nature provides us with a cycle of seasons which reflect the changing concerns of our lives. Winter is associated with depth and darkness, Spring with renewal, Summer with heat, and Fall with harvest. The months are associated with themes that reflect their season. Please follow the calendar daily to keep pace with the flow of Life or use its wisdom and inspiration to support the seasons of your personal life.

To Everything There Is a Season...
